Marianne Michael        Systemwide Strings Instructor

Ms. Michael is the Strings Instructor in the Watertown Public School System. She received her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music Degrees in Violin Performance from the University of Victoria. She is delighted to be the Strings Teacher at Judson School!  

 

Welcome to Strings at Judson School!!!

Lessons in the orchestral stringed instruments: violin, viola, and cello, are offered at Judson School to students in grades 3-5.

Lessons for students who played last year will begin the week of September 15. You will be notified of your lesson time during the week of September 8.

Lessons for beginning students will start the week of September 22. After I receive your child's enrollment form, I will notify you of his/her lesson day and time. Lessons are usually held during Library period, but may take place during other classes/activities with the permission of the Principal, the classroom teacher, and the parent. 

 

 

 

 

Supply List for Strings

1.  A violin, viola, or cello in the appropriate size (your child should have been measured by now, but if not, please email Ms. Michael at michaelma@watertownctschools.org

2. Suzuki Book 1 for violin, viola, or cello (we will not use the book for the first four lessons, so if the music store runs out, don't worry!)

3. New Directions in Strings for violin, viola, or cello.

4. A "purple pad" for violinists and violists. 

5. A "rock stop" for cellists (this may be included in your rental package).

6. Resin. This should be included in your rental package.
