| Teacher: Mrs. Gubbiotti GRADE: 3 SUBJECT : Assignments, upcoming classroom events, educational links, email link, and more. Dear Parents, I want to welcome you and your child to my website here at Judson School. I reside with my husband here in Watertown and am proud of my two children, Father Jeff and Jenny, who have been educated in the Watertown School System and have grown to serve their communities well. Our first grandson Ethan, was born on September 12, 2007 and we are thrilled! This is my thirteenth year teaching in Watertown and I am excited to share our experiences together in third grade. I believe that good and lasting habits must be started in these most important formative years. Please help me with this goal, by reminding our children to record homework assignments daily in class. The assignment pads are purchased by our PTA. To further help, homework is always written in the same place everyday on the board. Now, responsibility can be nurtured and this site could be used as a reference and support system for homework, long-term assignments, and upcoming classroom events. *Please sign and return all graded papers so that you can see what we are studying in class. You can monitor and support your individual child's needs at home as well. Signed papers returned by students, will be filed and sent back home at the beginning of each marking period. Thank you for your cooperation in this effort to communicate student progress on a regular basis. Parents can always reach me during regular school hours with any concerns and I will be happy to return your call as soon as possible. You may also email me at gubbiotticy@watertownctschools.org . A note can also be sent in with your child. I look forward to working with you and your child as we strive for a successful, happy, and fun learning experience. Thank you for your support. Sincerely, Cindy Gubbiotti

In LANGUAGE ARTS, we will be working on sentence structure, editing, and punctuation skills. Many varied opportunities will be given to the children as they learn valuable reading skills through the use of guided reading techniques and the Storytown Program. The first theme is "School Days". Promoting the pure joy of reading is fostered in class as well. You will hear vocabulary such as CLOZE, editing and revising. Mrs. Payne helps us with our writing stategies and Mrs. Stepka helps us sharpen our reading skills. In SOCIAL STUDIES, we will begin with our maps and community unit. SCIENCE- will begin with habitats after we complete the first unit in Social Studies. In MATH, we will begin exploring place value and num,ber sence. The buzz words will be standard form, word form, and expanded form. Remember...reviewing basic add and subtraction facts daily is important all the time, and we want to be ready to play "Bus Stop" at any time!
