Welcome to my website, and welcome to third grade! I am very excited to be your child's teacher this year! My name is Robyn Troisi and I reside in Watertown with my husband and three sons, Tyler, Bradley, and Austin. Tyler attends Assumption College in Massachusetts. Both Brad and Austin attend Holy Cross High School.
When not in the classroom, I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, and spending time with my family. I am looking forward to an exciting and successful year!
Please note our schedule for specials is as follows: Monday: Library Tuesday: Music Wednesday: Art Thursday: Computer Friday: Gym
Assignments/Homework: Your child has received a daily assignment pad. As per school policy, these assignment pads will be completed by students daily and brought home each afternoon. It is the parents’ responsibility to initial the assignment pad each evening. I, in turn, will check the assignment pads prior to them being brought home to insure they are completed correctly, as well as each morning to be sure they are initialed by a parent.
Please use this website when there is a question regarding the assigned homework. Please note that you can contact me via school e-mail at troisiro@watertownctschools.org. Of course, you can send a note to school for urgent matters.

What Will We Be Learning in September? Math: In math, we will begin exploring place value. The students will learn how to write numbers in four ways: standard form, expanded form, pictoral form, and word form. We will begin to create story problems using addition and subtraction sentences. We will also be working on comparing numbers and ordering numbers from least to greatest and visa versa. It is very important that the students know their basic addition and subtraction facts. Please review facts to 18 orally with your child. Reading: We have started using our new language arts series, the Storytown Reading Program. The first theme is School days. We will be learning and expanding on many skills including: finding the main idea of a selection, characterization and setting, and using vocabulary in context. We will also be looking at sound patterns to help spell words correctly. We will be reading stories in our anthology as a whole class and in small group settings. In our guided reading groups, we will focus on making connections and summarizing. Writing: The students will be working on writing sentences using proper punctuation, capitalization, and grammar. They will also be learning about different types of sentences, and learning to identify and write complete sentences. The students will be using poetry, journaling, and informational sentence writing to explore different aspects of themselves. Social Studies: The students will be learning about communities and maps. Birthdays Birthday treats are always welcome to celebrate your child's birthday! Please send in a note with your child beforehand, letting me know when you would like to send them in. Fun links
